Screencast-OH MY!!!!!

We know have a new winner!

At first I hated infographics.  I have a new #1 of the things I do not like.  In the #1 position  we have given the crown to creating INSTAGRAM STORIES!  Now, I love instagram, because its a great way to keep in contact with friends.  I love seeing their pictures and what they are up to. But for me; having to create a story; Dear Lord, Have Mercy that I did not through this laptop against the wall and yell out "You want a story?  Here's your Story!  Mild Mannered Teacher goes wacko creating a simple story! "  It took me longer that I would have liked; but I hope I did well to complete the assignment. *****New Updated Note*** I didn't know that Instagram story deletes itself after 24 hours.  So I went back and created the story again as if it were a regular post; and then re-did it somewhat again as a story*****  That is why Instagram Stories are my new #1 for what I dislike!
Screencast-o-matic seemed easy to use but what took me long is for me to happy with the recording.  I had to record myself at least 8 times before I finally said this is the one.  I did have several pop up windows show up throughout the presentation but I was lucky that they were not inappropriate.
Of the three the one that I like the most was Screencast-o-matic.  It was fairly easy to use and you are able to save a copy on your desktop.  The students would probably prefer to use Instagram; because they are already used to it.  The problem that I have in regards to using Instagram is that it is blocked at our school.  If we are using the school's internet connection than this site is blocked.
All of the options are great to use for students; especially if they are creating a "how-to" video when creating a project online.  For kids this would be a great way to show adults how to play some of the video games that they play online and what they need to do to be able to live past 30 seconds from the start of the game.

INFOGRAPHICS! YUK!

Infographics scare me! They are intimidating to create and drive me crazy!  Had to get that off of my chest.
For this assignment I created free accounts in easely, piktochart and infogram.  All three are great sites to help you in creating your infogram.
The first site that I looked at was that of easely  While it had awesome templates to use; I had a hard time trying to navigate through this site. I noticed a tab that said "Getting Started" and underneath that tab there was a section that said "Crash Course in Infographics".  I was jumping for joy because I found a way to be helped.  When I clicked on that link it sent me to an e-book that was NEVER sent to my email.  NEXT!
I then tried piktochart.  At first I was like, do I have to pay to get the templates that I want to use?  Well the answer was yes and no.  There are plenty of great looking templates that you can use free of charge; but just like all the other sites you can upgrade your experience by paying a fee.  I am broke so I went with the free stuff.  I ended up choosing the first template that I found to test this site.  The tool bar was easy to understand and I was able to add shapes, colors, fonts and was able to upload images from my computer on to this site.  I LIKE THIS ONE!
The final site that I tried out was infogram.  The templates that I found on this site were just as good as the ones in piktochart; but the tool bar was hard for me to decipher.  While I was able to understand more or less how to use it; it was taking me too much time to decipher them.  It reminded me of the tool bar I have to use when using Photo Shop. NO THANKS!
I ended up choosing piktochart.  But what information was I going to use to create my chart.  I went to the Pew Research Center website and found great articles that would be helpful with my assignment.  The article that just popped into my mind was one dealing with cyber bullying.  I used the data and information that was in the article to create my piktochart.  Hope you enjoy.
